Teachers of every identity; Straight, Lesbian, Gay, 2 Spirited, Transgendered or simply different, must be free and empowered to serve those students. When teachers’ actions, behaviours or personal wishes distract or detract from serving those students, the teachers put themselves on the wrong side of the education equation.
The questionable behaviour and motives of the freedom convoyers does not make the teacher’s actions in class any more acceptable. She needs to learn, It’s about the kids, not you.
