Minister Karina Gould

As only Ontario and New Brunswick hold out on a deal for childcare funding, we ask the Federal Minister of Families, Children and Social Development Karina Gould to explain exactly what the feds are offering the Ontario government, and what the hold-up is to get a deal in place for Ontario.

Parents are all too aware of is the price of daycare.  Not just in #the905 but across the province.  In some cases, the cost is comparable to a second mortgage on a family’s expenses.

The federal government is getting a plan in place across the country that aims to bring the cost of daycare down to $10 per day.  Every province has agreed to proceed, most recently Alberta, with New Brunswick and Ontario yet to sign and Doug Ford claiming Ontario needs more per capita than other provinces.
